The town of Chibougamau is located at the entrance of the Eeyou Istchee Baie-James tourism region, a vast territory covered with an abundance of lakes for fishing and forests. Baie-James is the perfect destination for outdoors enthusiasts. The campground reception also houses a tourist information office where everyone can learn about the attractions to see and things to do in the region and throughout Quebec.
The Chibougamau ecocamping, conveniently located just before the town entrance, on the shore of Lake Sauvage, offers 44 sites for motorhomes, tents or trailers. 15 % of them are shaded by the forest cover. In addition to the lake, bocce, petanque, croquet, and volleyball courts, as well as a children’s park, are available.
The water at the campsite is not drinkable, but bottled water is available for purchase at the reception.
The campsite is open from May 23rd to September 3rd, 2023, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Beyond opening hours, a QR code is available outside the reception area. It will take you to the camping reservation site. From there, you can see our availabilities, reserve a site and securely make a payment.
